Para quem fala mal dos franceses. Resta saber se haverá possíveis impactos no nosso mercado huezileiro.
Financial Times disse:PSA Group, maker of Peugeot and Citroën cars, is in talks to acquire General Motors’ European business in a deal that would transform the region’s automotive market.
The deal to combine PSA and German-based Opel, which owns the Vauxhall brand in the UK, would create the second-largest European carmaker after Volkswagen and add much needed scale to PSA’s European business. PSA and GM confirmed they were in talks. They said the groups were exploring “numerous strategic initiatives to improve profitability and operational efficiency, including a potential acquisition of Opel”.
Both sides stressed there was no certainty of a deal. GM has twice pulled out of earlier proposed deals to sell the business. One person close to the discussions said the deal could be the first step towards a full group merger between PSA and GM, although this was not part of the current round of talks.
