No 4chan pegaram os nomes dos participantes e descobriram que boa parte deles tem registro na polícia por abuso e assédio sexual, não sendo poucos os que tiveram como vítimas menores de idade. Esse filme é bem bacana. A parte que o rei se recupera e vai pra batalha contra o filho e por onde ele passa o reino vai renascendo com essa musica de fundo é foda.

Engraçado você citar o Omeleft, hoje me deparei com a crítica deles sobre viúva negra e olha só: acharam uma m**** (deram regular na real)

Falaram que o filme é feminino de menos, ao invés de tentar criar uma história mais focada no aspecto feminino foram para algo mais puxado pra espionagem como em capitão América e o soldado invernal

Quem diria hein? Um filme da viúva negra criticado por se tratar de espionagem

Também tiveram a pachorra de criticar as cenas de ação por serem "masculinas demais" e finalizaram com dois ovos (olha a ironia aí)

Lógico, essa foi minha interpretação da crítica, mas acredito que quem ler vai ver algo bem próximo do que eu entendi, e aí entra o paradoxo: é de se esperar algo bem progressista da Marvel atual, mas o Omeleft não gostou aparentemente por não ter tanto progressismo, será que vale ver o filme? Tô na dúvida ainda

Ou quem sabe o cheque da Disney não caiu que nem no caso citado aí.

Para a galerinha que domina a mídia hoje e principalmente quem escreve as críticas nos sites, toda pessoa que representa uma ala da diversidade tem que ficar o tempo todo falando e se preocupando com isso.

Prolific Batman Writer Chuck Dixon Explains Why Manga Is Wiping The Floor With American Comics

Long time Batman scribe and the co-creator of Bane Chuck Dixon recently explained why Japanese manga is wiping the floor with American comics.

Dixon recently uploaded his 65th episode of Ask Chuck Dixon to his YouTube channel where Ricardo Garcia asked him, “What is your theory/thoughts on why Manga is wiping the floor with American comics?”

Dixon answered, “It’s not too hard to figure out, really. There’s a lot of dedication, passion, and craft in manga comics. And that’s missing, almost entirely, from the Big Two.”

He elaborated, “Marvel and DC still run the store here. They still are the market leaders. And unfortunately, there is no variety there. There’s nothing really different. There’s not something for everybody the way there is in manga.”

Dixon then touted the artwork in manga, “It’s not hard to see. The artwork is attractive. It’s different. It’s engaging. It’s interesting. It’s varied. So there’s a lot of reasons to like manga.”

“And not a whole lot of reasons to like what’s out now. Because what’s out now, for the Big Two, is, for the most part, poorly crafted. There’s a few exceptions, but for the most part, it’s poorly crafted, poorly conceived, there’s an obvious political agenda to everything, and there’s no variety.”

Dixon then expanded on the variety Japanese manga has, “In Japanese manga there’s golf comics. There’s not one comic about golf. There’s multiple comics about golf.”

He continued, “And I’ve made reference on these videos to one of my favorite mangas is about fishing. It’s just about fishing. It’s not about vampires fishing on another planet or witches fishing or fishing after a zombie apocalypse. This is about guys fishing. Surf casting and whatever. Fishing from boats, fishing on the shore, fishing from the banks of rivers, and the stories are fascinating, and beautifully drawn, and beautifully realized.”

He then contrasted that with American comics, “But here, what do we get? We get superheroes and poorly done superheroes. There really isn’t anything else at the mainstream companies. It’s superheroes, superheroes, superheroes. And they are all avatars for the writers’ political agenda. And they’re kind of tiresome. They’re not particularly well drawn. They’re not particularly well-realized.”

Dixon then questioned, “Why would you want to read this crap if you had a choice of reading a genre that you prefer be it horror, or mystery, or espionage, or golf? When there’s only one flavor in American comics, of course Japanese comics are going to win the day.”

He went on, “The biggest problem here is that all I see American comic book creators, the people in the mainstream do, is complain about manga. Well, why don’t you learn from manga. Why don’t you look at what manga is doing and do that?”

Dixon then offered a solution for American comics to compete, “And I don’t mean draw people with huge eyes and lots of speed lines. I mean do more varied stories. Do more complex stories. Put more effort into the artwork. Put more effort into the craft. Change the format, for god’s sakes. Stop doing the little folio comics and look at what manga does. These big fat telephone books. Comics released weekly. Things like that. Just change the formula. Look what manga is doing. Why is manga successful? Try to copy that.”

However, he hedged, “Of course if they tried to copy it, just like they did in the 90s here in the United States, they just get it all wrong. They don’t know what they are doing. And they have no interest. They’re just going to complain about it. As if that’s going to get them anymore readers.”

Dixon then lamented, “So it’s sad. It’s a sad state of affairs. But everybody saw it coming. It had to happen. There has to be winners and losers. As the American comic book sales fall something has to replace it and manga is right there. It’s popular. I know my kids know kids who read manga. They don’t know anybody who reads American comics.

“And the kids that my kids know who read manga are just casual readers. They’re not fans. They’re not geeks. They’re not going to conventions. They just like reading manga. They like reading it on their phone. They like reading it in books. And there you go. I don’t see the mainstream, the Big Two, ever catching up. Although there are alternatives,” he concluded.

Diagnóstico feito com precisão cirúrgica, por uma lenda da indústria norte-americana de HQ's. Sabem o que essa indústria fará com o diagnóstico de Dixon? Porra nenhuma.

Todos os pontos de argumentação de Dixon já foram utilizados pelos leitores old school na última meia dúzia de anos, enquanto tentavam alertar a indústria a respeito das diversas cagadas que ela vinha perpetrando no gerenciamento de suas HQ's. O que a indústria fez então? Não só ignorou solenemente estes leitores, como fez questão de taxá-los como "istas" e "fóbicos".

Os palhaços que gerenciam a indústria norte-americana de HQ's, em sua genialidade, acharam que alienar completamente esses leitores não traria nenhuma consequência e que eles continuariam consumindo as HQ's a despeito disso... Evidentemente, não foi o que aconteceu. Esses leitores simplesmente se cansaram e migraram para algo melhor: mangás. São leitores que esta indústria provavelmente perdeu em definitivo... Afinal, qual deles se disporia a ler HQ's novamente, uma vez que os mangás, em geral, apresentam histórias, temáticas e personagens melhores, mais interessantes e variados?

Após este diagnóstico, Dixon dificilmente voltará a trabalhar no ramo mainstream de HQ's. Acredito que ele será incluído numa "lista negra", onde se encontram todos os autores e artistas que não se dobram à agenda demente que rege a indústria atualmente. A parte positiva é que ele possui cacife e competência suficientes para ser absurdamente bem sucedido no mercado indie, caso decida enveredar por este caminho. A parte negativa, é a de sempre: o ramo mainstream da indústria norte-americana de HQ's continuará claudicando neste deplorável estado morto-vivo em que se encontra, enquanto espera por um golpe de misericórdia para acabar com ele de uma vez por todas.

JUNE 2021 NPD BOOKSCAN - TOP 20 ADULT GRAPHIC NOVELS
A Diverse List Includes Some Classics and Some New Volumes - All Manga

Change is afoot on the list of the top 20 Adult graphic novels in the book channel, based on NPD BookScan data for June 2021 (5/30/21-7/3/21) provided to ICv2.

Once again, for the third month in a row, the entire Top 20 is manga. This list is quite different from the past two months, though, when two titles dominated: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and My Hero Academia. Yes, the most recent volume of My Hero Academia tops the list, and Demon Slayer is not far behind, but in between are new volumes of Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen, with Volume 5 of Spy x Family rounding out a quintet of June releases. Interestingly, there’s at least one additional volume of each of these series except Spy x Family in the top 20, so readers aren’t just picking up the new volumes, they’re diving into the series.

There’s an additional reason for the diversity of this list: As we reported, print manga is in short supply right now (see “The Great Manga Shortage of 2021”), and in fact, a quick look at online sources indicates that the first four volumes of Spy x Family are not available in print. Earlier volumes of some of the other series on this list are hard to find too, so readers may be sampling other series if they can’t find what they want. On the other hand, the first volumes of Death Note, Attack on Titan, The Promised Neverland, and Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun all pop up on this list fairly frequently, so maybe that’s just business as usual. It’s worth noting that Junji Ito is back, with Uzumaki, after a three-month absence, the first time in a while that one of his books wasn’t on the top 20.

Also worth noting: Although most of the books on this list have anime tie-ins, two of the most popular don’t: Chainsaw Man and Spy x Family. Anime are in the works for both series, but they must be hitting a chord with readers to do so well without it.

Por isso que a gente só vê entradas de notícias, como por exemplo "Loki vai mostrar toda sua bissexualidade na nova série" e qnd tu vê a série, e basicamente 3 linhas de diálogo...

Taking a page out of the ideological playbook of his Black Widow character, the Communism-loving Soviet super soldier Red Guardian, actor David Harbour recently shared his disbelief at the idea “that there’s anyone who could disagree with socialist ideology.”

Harbour offered his opinion on socialism during a recent interview with The Guardian, telling staff writer Alexi Duggins that, much like his Red Guardian character, “I don’t know that there’s anyone who could disagree with socialist ideology.”

“If you work at Starbucks and you make the coffee, then you should own it,” exclaimed Harbour. “You’re the one making the coffee!”

However, the Stranger Things star was not above admitting that “the fact is that the implementation of these things has led to some of the deepest fascism in our society, so people assume that ‘communism’ means ‘fascism’ to a certain degree.”

“That’s a terrible thing,” he added, before going on to explain that his ideal form of ‘socialism’ was not a fasistic society where people are punished for stepping out of ideological line, but rather one more akin to “a kindergarten-type society where we share things”.

“[That] is my ideal society,” asserted Harbour. “As opposed to this world where we’re hunting and killing and destroying for our own personal hoarding, our own personal greed.”

To that end, in the same interview, the actor also noted that he had quit social media following the realization that he felt like nothing more than “a cog in a greedy tech machine that isn’t geared towards beautifying humanity in any sort of way.”

Eu já tiro o chapéu pra Marvel Studios em fazer um filme com um vilão comunista em 2021, que sacanea o "Capitão América Soviético" o filme inteiro em meio a toda essa romantização do comunismo.

Ja o Harbour sempre me pareceu meio xarope.

Disney é a única que sabe lacrar de forma eficiente. As lacradas que eles metem nos filmes são sempre cenas rápidas e com jeito de que foram enxertadas ali na edição final de maneira que não afete o roteiro principal.

Aí fica fácil remover quando precisam lançar os filmes em mercados um tanto hostis a lacração.

A Diverse List Includes Some Classics and Some New Volumes - All Manga

Change is afoot on the list of the top 20 Adult graphic novels in the book channel, based on NPD BookScan data for June 2021 (5/30/21-7/3/21) provided to ICv2.

Once again, for the third month in a row, the entire Top 20 is manga. This list is quite different from the past two months, though, when two titles dominated: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and My Hero Academia. Yes, the most recent volume of My Hero Academia tops the list, and Demon Slayer is not far behind, but in between are new volumes of Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen, with Volume 5 of Spy x Family rounding out a quintet of June releases. Interestingly, there’s at least one additional volume of each of these series except Spy x Family in the top 20, so readers aren’t just picking up the new volumes, they’re diving into the series.

There’s an additional reason for the diversity of this list: As we reported, print manga is in short supply right now (see “The Great Manga Shortage of 2021”), and in fact, a quick look at online sources indicates that the first four volumes of Spy x Family are not available in print. Earlier volumes of some of the other series on this list are hard to find too, so readers may be sampling other series if they can’t find what they want. On the other hand, the first volumes of Death Note, Attack on Titan, The Promised Neverland, and Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun all pop up on this list fairly frequently, so maybe that’s just business as usual. It’s worth noting that Junji Ito is back, with Uzumaki, after a three-month absence, the first time in a while that one of his books wasn’t on the top 20.

Also worth noting: Although most of the books on this list have anime tie-ins, two of the most popular don’t: Chainsaw Man and Spy x Family. Anime are in the works for both series, but they must be hitting a chord with readers to do so well without it.

BBC licence fee in CHAOS: 700,000 rebels refuse to pay as critics say end is coming
THE BBC lost 700,000 licence fee payers last year news figures released today indicate.

Thousands of households scrapped paying for the national broadcaster over the course of the pandemic. The data was revealed as part of the TV Licensing annual review for 2020-2021. It indicates that as of March 31 2021, there were 24.8 million Britons coughing up for the licence fee each year. The year before 25.5 million paid for the service.

The drop is a far steeper rate of decline than over the course of the previous year when about 200,000 chose not to renew the licence.

The figures are likely to spark alarm for BBC bosses, who have already admitted the need not to become complacent in the face of increased competition from subscription services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Director-general Tim Davie admitted to MPs in March that the corporation would see its finances significantly hit if there was a continued drop in those paying the fee.

He told the Public Accounts Committee: "We are watching the number like hawks. This is the majority of our revenue and is absolutely critical to us."

The BBC lost 700,000 licence fee payers in a year​

At the time Mr Davie said the fall in numbers was due to the popularity of alternative methods of viewing programming.

"It's not surprising that when on-demand is burgeoning in the way it is and other services are there, you are going to get some marginal erosion of people who are not watching a live stream on television," he said.

However, the BBC boss said the corporation's role "is not to beat Netflix" and he was hoping to achieve produce something "radically different".

BBC director-general Tim Davie has admitted to keeping a close eye on the figures​

The TV Licensing annual review was published at the same time as the BBC's annual report.

While the former indicated a drop in households paying the licence fee, the latter painted a more positive picture for the broadcaster.

It found that between March 2020 and 2021 the amount of time viewers engaged with the corporation increased.

Britons spent an average of 18 hours and two minutes a week engaging with BBC content according to the figures, up from 17 hours and 45 minutes the year before.

BBC iplayer attracted record audiences during the pandemic​

With the UK spending most of the year in lockdown due to the pandemic, BBC iPlayer attracted record audiences with 6.1 billion streams - up 28 percent on last year.

Responding to the annual report, Mr Davie said there was "much more to do" to ensure licence fee payers received value for money.

He said: "The BBC has delivered outstanding content and value to audiences in extraordinary circumstances this year.

"I am proud of all we have achieved to inform, educate and entertain the Nation in record numbers during the pandemic.

"The BBC is responding to global competition and pressure on our finances. But, we know we must do much more to ensure licence fee payers across the UK get best value from the BBC, to maintain their trust and provide a service they cannot do without.

I am absolutely focussed on making the reforms we need to ensure the BBC is positioned to offer all audiences the best possible service well into the future."

The BBC's average audeince engagement time increased over the past year​

In 2020-2021 the TV licence fee cost £15.50 for the year.

In April the cost rose in line with inflation by £1.50 to £159.

Se bem que, se analisarmos por um outro prisma, acho que dá para dizermos que o atual sucesso dos mangás em território norte-americano pode realmente se dever à indústria de HQ's. Se ela não estivesse produzindo tanta m**** coalhada com porcarias ideológicas, através de pessoas sem qualificação e que só tem interesse em utilizar o meio para disseminar sua agenda demente e tentar descolar um contrato com Hollywood, tenho certeza de que a maior parte dos leitores nem cogitaria migrar para os mangás. Assim sendo, a autodestruição voluntária da indústria norte-americana de HQ's auxiliou o sucesso dos mangás em seu território, sem dúvida alguma. Parabéns aos imbecis como Joe Quesada, que são os responsáveis por essa façanha.

Sim, essas animações da Square infelizmente cederam um pouco, ainda assim a história é infinitamente superior a lacração ocidental. Mas outros animes, ainda mais aqueles de comédia, ainda estão recheados de safadezas.

Aliás a massiva maioria, incluindo aqueles com excelente qualidade artística, estão do jeito que o artista concebeu.

Mushoku Tensei por exemplo, considero superior a Dragon Quest em todos os quesitos, se bem que Dragon Quest é uma animação família.

Para mim todos até agora foram retratados de maneira patética.
Thanos teve destaque no Guerra Infinita mas no Endgame virou um banana que ia apanhar da Capetã Marvel.
Os outros todos foram fracos se comparados aos quadrinhos, fora que eles estão com essa mania de matar ou anular os vilões. Daqui alguns anos vai faltar vilão.

Não é para menos que já não possuo praticamente nenhum interesse em ver personagens de HQ's adaptados para o meio cinematográfico.

Thanos foi um personagem absurdamente desperdiçado.
Mesmo Josh Brolin indo muito bem, não salva esse filme.
É o filme pra assistir uma vez e já era.
Thanos virou saco de pancadas das colheres "puderosas", fez com que aquele final perdesse todo sentido, ficou tipo, "por que não fizeram isso antes?"

Concordo, mas é como eu disse.
A Marvel usa mal demais os vilões o cinema.
Ultron é uma ameaça incrível e... morreu.
Caveira Vermelha é o maior vilão do Capitão América e... durou um filme para depois voltar como fantasma.
A Hella, Mysterio, Ego... e vários outros foram subutilizados.
Falta aquele vilão que é uma ameaça real e duradoura.
Talvez o Zemo se ele retornar possa ser retratado assim.
