Na semana passada, a revista japonesa de games Famistu completou o seu 30º aniversário. A revista é conhecida por cobrir o mercado de maneira rigorosa, e até hoje só deu nota máxima para um punhado de jogos, o primeiro dos quais foi The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, 12 anos após a primeira edição da revista.
Para marcar a data, a publicação realizou uma enquete com seus leitores para eleger os jogos mais memoráveis de cada console lançado desde que a revista existe. Isso significa todos os principais consoles da Nintendo, Sony, Sega e Microsoft desde o NES (conhecido no Japão como Famicom).
De acordo com o Kotaku, foram recebidas pela revista 2921 cédulas, cada uma das quais continha votos para um jogo de cada um dos consoles participantes. Para cada um deles, foram considerados os 10 jogos mais votados pelos leitores para compor um "top 10".
Conforme o site aponta, os leitores não votaram nos jogos que consideravam ser o "melhor" de cada console (embora jogos muito bons tenham vencido), mas sim naqueles dos quais mais se lembravam. Jogos mobile, para PCs e máqiinas de fliperama não foram incluídos.
Também vale notar que por tratar-se de uma enquete de uma revista japonesa, os jogos eleitos terão muito mais a ver com o gosto dos jogadores daquele país. A série Dragon Quest, por exemplo, pouco conhecida no país, é extremamente popular por lá.
