The ranks at Playground Games have been swelling as the studio recruit in droves, both for their AAA RPG project, and for what looks like another Forza
Horizon. Forza
Horizon 4 released in October of last year, and all signs seem to point to its successor, Forza
Horizon 5.
The Playground Games official Twitter has been advertising their job oppurtunities, and a look at their
site shows that they're recruiting in full force for their Forza
Horizon team. They've currently got 25 places available within their
Horizon team; with everything from Senior Game Designer to Senior Vehicle Artist. They're recruiting for a Level Designer, a Lead Vehicle Artist, and a Lead Character Artist: and all for their Forza
Horizon team. They've recently hired Nathan Buchanan, a former Rockstar Games employee, as an Associate Producer for the Forza
Horizon team.
And that's not all. They also seem to have ramped up the intensity for their AAA RPG project too, and are recruiting massively. Nick Duncombe is the Head of Recruitment for Playground Games, and his
Twitter page shows that recently, they've hired a Game Designer, a Technical Artist, a Technical Designer, and an Audio Designer for their RPG project. And yet, their
site shows they've still got 40 positions open for an "entirely new AAA open world action/RPG project". This would suggest a project of enormous size, and it's widely rumoured to be Fable 4. It's hard to guess at what stage this AAA project is at, as Playground Games are still hiring for a Principal World Designer and Senior Environment Artist, along with a Dialogue Supervisor and a Combat Designer.
It's not clear yet whether we can expect to see Fable 4 or Forza
Horizon 5, or what the release date for these projects are. Either way, it looks as though we can expect to see big things from Playground Games at some point in the future.
