Sim, Duna é uma representação do colonialismo.

Na verdade não precisa nem ler porra nenhuma pra entender isso.

A história faz um misto entre especiarias (por isso que se chama spice) e petróleo (o spice é essencial para o transporte).

O caso é que o filme não terminou a história e tão criticando.

Conforme a história avança, o escritor coloca na verdade o poderio da família Atreides como os vilões da história.

Mas duvido que volte alguém pra falar, ahhh, agora tá tudo bem.

Jodie Whittaker’s Final Season As Doctor Who Opens To Lowest Numbers In Revival Series’ History

Though the BBC may be attempting to sound the fanfare for Jodie Whittaker’s final outing as the first female incarnation of the eponymous Doctor, fans appear to be less than thrilled, as the season premiere of the actress’ final season of Doctor Who has debuted to the worst ratings since the series was revived in 2005.

As noted by BBC journalist Lizo Mzimba following the premiere of ‘Chapter One: The Halloween Apocalypse,’ though “The Doctor Who series opener was watched by an overnight audience of 4.43 million,” and posted numbers “higher than most of S12’s overnights,” its viewership numbers were not “as high as S12 opener Spyfall (4.88m).”

Not only did the debut episode of Doctor Who: Flux – the subtitle given to the short ordered thirteenth season’s interconnected six-part story – fail to perform with audiences compared to the previous season opener, but its total viewing numbers also fell short of Whittaker’s season 11 debut in 2018, which pulled in a total of roughly 10.96 million viewers in the UK alone.

“Interesting to see if the one story for 6 eps means figures rise rather than the usual fall over the series,” he continued,. “Also worth noting that Spyfall Part One was a New Year’s Day Special. If the one overall storyline/cliffhangers format keeps figures at this level or sees a rise, will be excellent news. But if it falls at the rate of the last series, then it’s already starting from a lower base.”

However, as concluded by Mzimba, “consolidated figures will tell [the] real story, but traditionally show is mostly watched on evening that it’s on.”

“And it adds a fairly consistent amount overnight. But we won’t have [a] fuller picture for a few weeks,” he added. “Right now, it’s in ‘not brilliant, not terrible’ territory.”

Interestingly, the reporter also found that the “last 5 minutes had much higher viewing figure of 5.41m,” though he explained that this bump was caused by viewers tuning in early to watch the next program, which happened to be the latest episode of the long-running British reality dance competition, Strictly Come Dancing.

The last time Doctor Who’s numbers were below 5 million was with the Season 12 finale of the Timeless Children. That episode brought in 4.69 million viewers. It was the least viewed since Meglos: Part Three, which aired in October 1980.

If the numbers for The Halloween Apocalypse don’t improve from the overnight figures it will become the least viewed episode of Doctor Who since The Leisure Hive: Part Four, which aired in September 1980 and saw 4.5 million people tune in.

As noted above, the thirteenth season of Doctor Who is being presented as a special six-part story in which the Doctor attempts to discover the truth behind the Crimean War, her own history, and a mysterious new enemy known as Flux.

The official synopsis, as provided by the BBC, states, “Jodie Whittaker, Mandip Gill, John Bishop and Jacob Anderson star in an epic six-part adventure which will take the Doctor and her friends to the edge of the universe and beyond, in a battle for survival.”

It adds, “Packed with action, humour, terrifying new villains and iconic returning monsters such as the Sontarans and the Weeping Angels, the new series of Doctor Who tells one story across a vast canvas.”

“It features a host of acclaimed British acting talent including Rochenda Sandall, Annabel Scholey, Craig Parkinson, Kevin McNally, Sam Spruell, Robert Bathurst, Steve Oram and Thaddea Graham,” the description continues.

Finally, it concludes, “From Liverpool to the depths of space, via the Crimean war and a planet named Atropos which shouldn’t even exist, fighting old foes and new creatures from beyond our dimension, the Doctor and company face a race against (and through!) time to uncover a universe-spanning mystery: what is the Flux?

Dune é uma obra literária que marcou e marca gerações. O filme é só a superfície do iceberg.

O lore da mitologia ali criada é GIGANTESCO e lida com diversos temas de sociedade mesmo. Até por isso o autor resolveu fugir dos tradicionais aliens e máquinas inteligentes na obra original. Não que esta segunda não seja explorada mais adiante... mas não é o foco por um LONGO tempo no enredo.

O filme em si é bom....problema é que os livros eram MUITO bons... aí pra quem leu eles fica uma sensação meio estranha ao terminar o filme. Mas vale assistir.

There’s a bit of a shift in the top 20 Adult graphic novels in the book channel, based on NPD BookScan data for October 2021 (10/3/21-10/30/21) provided to ICv2.

The Adult Top 20 is all manga once again, after three months of 19 manga plus one other title. In terms of publishers, though, it’s a diverse list, with four different publishers making the top 20 and three of them getting more than one title on the chart.

VIZ Media, of course, dominates, with 14 titles; Kodansha Comics has three; Yen Press has two; and Dark Horse Comics has one.

That’s a much more diverse lineup than usual, at least in terms of publishers. When manga took over the top 20, earlier this year, almost all the titles were VIZ series, but over the year other publishers have made the chart. The first volume of Yen Press’s Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun has been on the chart for over a year, and in October the latest volume charted as well. Sales of the first volume of Kodansha’s Attack on Titan picked up when the final season of the anime started streaming earlier this year, so it’s usually on the chart, and Vol. 34 is the final volume of the series (see "‘Attack on Titan’ Manga to End"). The other Kodansha title, Wotakoi is a rom-com about adult nerds, so it’s very different from Attack on Titan. New volumes often appear on the chart in their release month, as is the case here.

In fact, eight of the titles on the chart are October releases. It’s pretty typical for the latest volume of a particular series to sell well enough to make the chart, but that’s typically four or five titles, not eight. That means there are more different series represented on the chart than usual, and this may be the first time that both Kodansha and Yen Press have had a volume debut on the same chart.

Pior que Hanako é um manga bem legal, uma mistura de terror com comedia com um estilo bem unico

OCTOBER 2021 NPD BOOKSCAN - TOP 20 ADULT GRAPHIC NOVELS
All Manga, and Plenty of Variety

There’s a bit of a shift in the top 20 Adult graphic novels in the book channel, based on NPD BookScan data for October 2021 (10/3/21-10/30/21) provided to ICv2.

The Adult Top 20 is all manga once again, after three months of 19 manga plus one other title. In terms of publishers, though, it’s a diverse list, with four different publishers making the top 20 and three of them getting more than one title on the chart.

VIZ Media, of course, dominates, with 14 titles; Kodansha Comics has three; Yen Press has two; and Dark Horse Comics has one.

That’s a much more diverse lineup than usual, at least in terms of publishers. When manga took over the top 20, earlier this year, almost all the titles were VIZ series, but over the year other publishers have made the chart. The first volume of Yen Press’s Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun has been on the chart for over a year, and in October the latest volume charted as well. Sales of the first volume of Kodansha’s Attack on Titan picked up when the final season of the anime started streaming earlier this year, so it’s usually on the chart, and Vol. 34 is the final volume of the series (see "‘Attack on Titan’ Manga to End"). The other Kodansha title, Wotakoi is a rom-com about adult nerds, so it’s very different from Attack on Titan. New volumes often appear on the chart in their release month, as is the case here.

In fact, eight of the titles on the chart are October releases. It’s pretty typical for the latest volume of a particular series to sell well enough to make the chart, but that’s typically four or five titles, not eight. That means there are more different series represented on the chart than usual, and this may be the first time that both Kodansha and Yen Press have had a volume debut on the same chart.

Dune é uma obra literária que marcou e marca gerações. O filme é só a superfície do iceberg.

O lore da mitologia ali criada é GIGANTESCO e lida com diversos temas de sociedade mesmo. Até por isso o autor resolveu fugir dos tradicionais aliens e máquinas inteligentes na obra original. Não que esta segunda não seja explorada mais adiante... mas não é o foco por um LONGO tempo no enredo.

O filme em si é bom....problema é que os livros eram MUITO bons... aí pra quem leu eles fica uma sensação meio estranha ao terminar o filme. Mas vale assistir.

Depende se vc se importa em se spoiliar o enredo antes de ler os livros ou não...

Se vc assistir o filme antes ao meu ver vai estragar um pouco do fator surpresa do livro, claro que o filme não explora o conteúdo da narrativa com a mesma profundidade dos livros. E até o próximo filme ser lançado em 2023 provavelmente se a leitura o agradar vc já terá lido a obra completa.

Eu até que gostei bastante do livro dune butlerian jihad.

Traz um background interessante sobre algo que antes tivemos apenas pinceladas. Contudo me parece que o Frank tinha uma visão diferente do Brian e do Kevin inicialmente quanto a essa parte do enredo.

Pessoal, me tirem uma dúvida sobre a opinião de vocês:

Faz um tempo que vi duas pessoas discutindo sobre o partido comunista do Japão querer banir conteúdo lolicon.

E num dado momento, um usuário veio com o argumento de que não deveria ser proibido, pois desenhos/jogos não são capazes de influenciar pessoas, se fossem então todo conteúdo negativo também deveria ser proibido(Como assassinato, estupro etc.) e citou que isso era crime, a capa de um CD do nirvana(Do bebe perseguindo uma nota numa piscina) que era visto como arte, mesmo tendo um menor de idade despito deveria ser crime também.

Logicamente, faz sentido com um argumento muito usado aqui e até por mim, animes e jogos não são capazes de influenciar até tão ponto, mas ainda sim fiquei pensando e não cheguei a uma conclusão que me satisfizesse e queria a opinião de vocês.

Mas qual é a sua dúvida exatamente?

Nós somos resultado daquilo que somos biologicamente, espiritualmente (para quem acredita nisso), e das circunstâncias do nosso meio, que restringe nossas experiências de vida, que por sua vez moldam nossa personalidade.

Então, em princípio, tudo influencia.
