Com um filme em live-action atualmente em desenvolvimento pela Sony Pictures, a franquia Mestres do Universo voltou a ganhar novidades. Entretanto, agora envolvendo uma série animada produzida pela Netflix.

Segundo informações do site Coming Soon, a gigante do streaming anunciou o desenvolvimento da série animada Masters of the Universe: Revelation.

O projeto em questão foi confirmado como uma continuação da série animada finalizada em 1988, que por sua vez ainda contará com Kevin Smith como produtor executivo e showrunner.

A Netflix e a Mattel TV serão as responsáveis pelo desenvolvimento do projeto, que por sua vez contará também com a participação da Powerhouse (da série Castlevania) como responsável por desenvolver a sua animação.

Olha, só pelo fato do estúdio Powerhouse estar envolvido, eu já estou tranquilo quanto ao apelo visual. Os caras tem crédito de sobra comigo, por conta do que apresentaram em Castlevania.

Kevin Smith acertou indo atrás de profissionais conceituados, ao contrário do que a Dreamworks fez com She-Ra. Nesse caso, a prioridade parece ter sido encontrar um monte de "artistas" lacradores do Tumblr, para fazer as já conhecidas animações porcas que somente a audiência lacradora do Tumblr supostamente consome.

Além disso, a Dreamworks parece ter feito o questão de manter os custos de produção nos níveis mais baixos possíveis, resultando num produto ainda mais medíocre. Na minha opinião, os fãs de She-Ra mereciam algo melhor.

Pelos poderes de Grayskull! No último domingo, foi anunciado que a Netflix passaria a lançar uma nova série de He-Man e os Mestres do Universo – que, em vez de ser um reboot, deve seguir de perto a série original, dando continuidade às aventuras do Príncipe Adam e outros heróis contra as artimanhas malignas do Esqueleto.

Agora, Kevin Smith – que está responsável pelo revival – postou um tweet no qual promete aos fãs que fará de tudo para lhes dar a melhor sequência possível da série original. Além disso, ele ainda fez um trocadilho com Stinkor (um dos vilões da linha de brinquedos originais da Mattel) com a palavra stinker (porcaria, em tradução livre), prometendo que não vai deixar a série ser um lixo:

Ainda não sabemos ao certo quando a nova série deve chegar à plataforma de streaming, mas é uma ótima notícia para os fãs da franquia animada que transcendeu gerações. Além disso, parece que estamos vendo um grande retorno dos Mestres do Universo para a cultura pop, com o lançamento de She-Ra e as Princesas do Poder, também da Netflix, bem como o reboot em live-action, que deve chegar aos cinemas no ano que vem.

Depois assistir ao documentário da Netflix "Brinquedos que marcaram época", fica dificil se animar com essas noticias.
O propósito de todos esses desenhos animados é o de vender Brinquedos. A Mattel nos anos 80 faturou milhões com a linha de brinquedos do He-man, até que as crianças cresceram e as vendas cairam. O resultado, o desenho foi cancelado. Uns anos depois, eles tentaram novamente emplacar a história com o proposito de vender mais brinquedos, com aquele He-man aguado dos anos 90, o desenho foi um fracasso e as vendas idem, cancelado de novo. Uma ultima tentativa foi nos anos 2000, com uma animação de volta as raizes, de muita qualidade, mas que também não rendeu boas vendas, sendo cancelada também. Pelo visto esta é apenas mais uma tentativa para vender bonecos, e independente da qualidade da animação, se não vender, vai pro saco novamente.

"A young prince discovers a mighty power, and an epic story begins once more," Netflix tweeted on Wednesday. "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe wage a new battle against Skeletor in a reimagined take on the classic franchise."

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe -- created by Netflix and Mattel Television -- will feature computer-generated animation.

The new series story will take place on the planet of Eternia, where a young lost prince discovers the powers of Grayskull and transforms into He-Man, Master of the Universe. He-Man and his friends will face off against the evil Skeletor, according to the show synopsis.

This new CGI-animated series is different than the other He-Man series headed to Netflix -- a 2D anime series called Masters of the Universe: Revelation headed up by director and writer Kevin Smith.

Smith's He-Man series is described as "a wholly original story set in the epic world of Mattel's over 35-year-old global He-Man toy franchise."

Release dates for both He-Man animated shows have yet to be announced.

A Netflix está produzindo não uma, mas duas séries animadas de He-Man e os Mestres do Universo, uma mais voltada para o público infantil e outra que servirá de continuação para o clássico dos anos 80. Esta última, que se chamará Masters of the Universe: Revelations, está sendo produzida pelo roteirista e diretor Kevin Smith (Barrados no Shopping, O Balconista), que promete uma série digna da expectativa dos fãs.

Hoje, a Netflix divulgou o elenco de vozes originais dos principais personagens da animação, cheio de atores e atrizes famosos e conhecidos por seus trabalhos na TV e no cinema. He-Man will have a very different look when he debuts in Netflix's reimagining of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

We now have our first look at the CG-animated reimagining of a childhood favorite, as He-Man is given a stark makeover for Netflix's upcoming reboot He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. This first look comes courtesy of a new toy line that is being released in conjunction with the new series by Mattel.

The new promo image features a much a more cartoony looking He-Man, whose now over-sized toros is draped in heavy armor, with his now giant hand shown wielding a Sword of Power that has also doubled in size. Thankfully, his comparatively tiny head looks to still be sporting the blonde mullet that we all know and admire. The image also shows our first glimpse at He-Man's trusted feline friend, Battle Cat, whose armor has also been given a vicious new upgrade. Considering the more supposedly child-friendly design, the legendary warriors certainly look like a force to be reckoned with.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is the second series based on the beloved character to be released on Netflix. The series will be produced by Mattel Television and has a wealth of animated talent behind it with Adam Bonnett (Descendants), Christopher Keenan (Justice League, Batman Beyond), and Rob David (Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) serving as executive producers. Bryan Q. Miller (Smallville) will serve as series showrunner.

Netflix's new take will follow Eternia's Prince Adam, who discovers the power of Grayskull, transforming him into He-Man, Master of the Universe. The series has officially been described by the streaming giant as "A reimagining of the classic animated series."

While the plan for He-Man and The Masters of the Universe is to be a more family-oriented show, with the CG-animated revival set to explore new storylines and different takes on the cherished characters, Netflix is also producing an adult-oriented anime series titled Masters of the Universe: Revelation. Directed by Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats) the series will act as a sequel to the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe filmmation series from the 1980s. Smith will also serve as showrunner for the show while Powerhouse Animation (Castlevania, Blood of Zeus) are on board to handle the animation.

Netflix and Mattel Television have released the first photos from Masters of the Universe: Revelation, along with the announcement of when the new animated series from Kevin Smith will premiere on Netflix.

The photos give fans a glimpse at Prince Adam/He-Man (Chris Wood), his nemesis Skeletor (Mark Hamill), Sorceress (Susan Eisenberg), Teela (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Moss Man (Alan Oppenheimer), Beast Man (Kevin Michael Richardson), Orko (Griffin Newman), Andra (Tiffany Smith), Roboto (Justin Long) and Evil-Lyn (Lena Headey).

"I watched all of the TV series growing up, it was everywhere in the '80s. These characters started off as toys and ended up becoming part of the global pop culture fabric. "A big reason we got such top tier voice talent is because people genuinely want to be a part of this world. Visual fodastico, pq diabos não fizeram isso com a She-ra? Tantos anos esperando um remake da princesa do poder e a Dreworks faz um traço Debilóide daquele sepultando mais uma vez a belíssima adora.
