Han Solo new trailer reveals Lando is BISEXUAL? Watch him FLIRT with Han
DID the new Solo: A Star Wars Story just reveal the first ever gay or bisexual character after fans go wild for this flirting scene between Lando and an amused Han Solo?

Star-Wars-Solo-movie-Lando-flirting-948140.jpg

Star Wars Solo movie: Lando flirting with Han

It's been a long time coming.

C-3PO may be the most flamboyant droid in this or any galaxy near or far, far away but Star Wars has never introduced an openly non-heterosexual character on the big screen.

No wonder there is excitement over the latest Solo trailer which shows formerly shameless ladies' man Lando Calrissian "flirting" with a smiling Han Solo. He even calls him "Babe." Some fans hvae also seized on the young Lando's rather stylish and flashy wardrobe as further evidence, althoug the older Billy Dee Williams Leia-loving incarnation also had quite the flair for fashion.

Kathleen Kennedy has been promising to shake up the Star Wars universe for a while now and this would be the biggest step yet. Is Star Wars about to give fans an LGBTQXI icon?

Fans have already seized on the budding signs after a previous trailer also showed Lando use a flirty affectionate tone when he tells Han: ”You might want to buckle up, baby."

With the latest scene fans have gone into overdrive, or possibly hyperdrive.

One wrote: "Solo will be a blessing because Lando calls Han “Baby” and “Haan” and L3-37 tells him to stop flirting with the guy."

Another was far more demanding: "Look I still don’t give a damn about the Solo movie but L3 SPECIFICALLY TOLD LANDO AND HAN TO STOP FLIRTING... JUST SAY THEY WERE MARRIED YOU COWARDS"

The moment comes after Lando takes Han onto the Millennium Falcon and drawls: “Every ship isn’t for everyone. She needs a particular type of pilot.”

Hardly the sexiest line in movie history but his posture, smile and phrasing give it extra meaning which is exposed by his droid accomplice. L3-37 then drily comments: “You done flirting?”

Of course, poor Lando should know that there will only ever be one man (or Wookiee) in Han's life...

Fans are now hoping for more of the same when the movie hits the big screen in May.

One said :"They only thing I expect from the Solo movie is a lot of flirting between Han and Lando."

Another added: "I just...I’m really excited for Solo now because of the one part of the trailer where the bot goes “are you done flirting?” and then it’s a shot of Lando and Han (I know in the movie it’s probably gonna be Han flirting with Qi’ra but I can dream). Give me bisexual Han Solo."

Han-Solo-with-Qi-ra-1312223.jpg

Han Solo with Qi'ra

The last comment points out the fact that Disney and Lucasfilm have a habit of editing trailers to give misleading cues about characters and scenes.

Lando could be calling someone else "Babe" in the movie or flirting with Emilia Clarke's Qi'ra.

Will the Solo movie duck away from portraying anything outsite a narrow heteronormative narrative or will they finally introduce a character with a rather more fluid or playful sexuality?

Star Wars' Mark Hamill thinks new Han Solo actor Alden Ehrenreich can't win either way
"Not everybody likes broccoli." Apparently.

landscape-1517838372-solo-a-star-wars-movie.jpg

Han Solo is the greatest Star Wars character of all time according to its fans, so it's a bit of an understatement to say that Alden Ehrenreich has got a lot riding on his turn as young Han.

And, sorry Alden, but Star Wars veteran Mark Hamill has got some bad news about that.

Following on from the not-at-all surprising news that Alden's Han Solo has divided fans, Hamill has (kind of) reassured the young actor that "you can't please everybody".

"This is the only franchise where you go on Twitter and they say, 'If such and such happens, I am so out!'" Hamill recently told Entertainment Tonight.

"It surprises me, but look, you can't please everybody. You just have to try and make the best story you can. I was sort of taken aback by [the divisiveness], but who knows?!"

In his usual unique way with words, Luke Skywalker himself then added: "Not everybody likes broccoli. Some people like carrots or Brussels sprouts better... that's just the way life is."

And we all know that a Jedi is never wrong.

giphy.gif

Whether you're pro-Alden as Han or not, there's no denying that Star Wars' latest instalment is going to set a different kind of tone to its predecessors. (Or successors, technically.)

Revealing the 'darkness' of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Alden recently teased a grittier backstory to Han Solo than we might have expected.

"One of the fun things about this movie but also one of the things that really shapes him is that it takes place in a real dark underworld of the Star Wars universe," he said.

Is Solo Planning an Empire Strikes Back-Sized Twist?

Solo-Star-Wars-Movie-Big-Twist-Han-Mom.jpg

Enfys Nest is a rather peculiar name. And as such, 'he' is turning out to be a rather peculiar character in general. Is this thing a man? A woman? An asexual space worm disguised in super cool Star Wars armor? The true verdict is out. But one interesting new theory has piqued our interest. And it would bring an epic Empire Strikes Back-like twist to Solo. Quit reading if you don't want any potential SPOILERS, because we're going down the rabbit hole on this one.

No one really ever talks about Han Solo's parents. Not in the way Rey's parents have been discussed since the release of The Force Awakens, or in the manner in which Luke and Leia's dad was ultimately revealed. Who are Han Solo's parents? I don't think anyone has ever really cared too much up until this point. No one has been debating the fact leading into the release of Solo. But now, there is building evidence that we may actually meet one of Han Solo's parents in Ron Howard's sprawling space adventure.

Will the powers that be, be so bold as to introduce Han Solo's mom in the next stand-alone Star Wars adventure? It would definitely come out of left field. And there is some evidence to back this up. And it all leads back to Enfys Nest. Who or what is this 'thing'?

A few weeks ago, a French magazine revealed the somewhat unexpected news that new Solo villain Enfys Nest was a female. Her legacy rests within the old Star Wars Legends universe, the Expanded canon that Disney jettisoned when they bought Lucasfilm. Ever since, Disney has been bringing back some of these character into the official canon, one at a time. Solo is said to actually introduce quite a few of these wayward aliens back into the fold.

Everyone accepted that Enfys was a girl, and moved on. No one at Lucasfilm ever corrected the reveal. And director Ron Howard, who has a pretty strong social media presence, never bothered to clarify this as untrue. But then, earlier this week, a more defined description of Enfys Nest showed up in an officially licensed Star Wars magazine. And it boldly and outright definitely calls this a male character. Mr. Nest is a man. Full blooded, no soy, havoc bringing. Or...Wait...What?

This all became really confusing really fast. And still, there is no definitive word on whether Enfys Nest is really a man or a woman, or someone who identifies as non-binary. At least not from anyone tied directly to Lucasfilm and Disney. Now we have a new theory as to what is actually going on here. Enfys Nest is a woman, pretending to be a man, so that we get the big Han Solo's mom reveal at the end of the movie. Say what?

None of this has been confirmed by anyone inside the Lucasfilm camp. This is just an interesting theory provided by popular comic book artist Ethan Van Sciver, who has been meticulously going over all sorts of minutia related to the Star Wars universe on his ComicArtistPro Secrets Youtube Channel. He is well known for the amazing Green Lantern work he's done over at DC along with a bunch of other titles. And he's a noted Rose Tico enthusiast. So if you can't trust him, who can you trust?

He posits that Lucafilm and Ron Howard really wanted the Enfys Nest reveal to be a big twist in the movie, and a French magazine leaked the info. Kathleen Kennedy's team has been rather cagey with their promotion of the movie, and perhaps Lucasfilm stayed quiet, putting out their own twist cover in this latest Star Wars magazine knowing 'trash' sites like this (as Sciver calls them) would pick it up and course correct the potential for such a big surprise to stay in tact.

Now, everyone is expecting the character to be male again. So the reveal that Enfys Nest is actually Han's mom will come as a shocking twist. If any of this is true, will fans buy it, though? Han has always been an orphan, and fans have never been clamoring for any type of parent reveal. Even if Nest isn't Han Solo's mom, Sciver does use an action figure comparison test to show how confident he is that Nest is really a women in disguise. Setting Nest up against Emilia Clark's Qi'Ra, both figures are the same size and stature, with the other male characters much larger and more beefed up in their physique. With the new Han Solo action figures all lined up together, yeah, Enfys Nest does look more like one of the female action figures just in size and stature alone. But that's not very good evidence.

One thing we haven't really heard anyone discuss is the meaning of the name Enfys Nest. Enfys is Welsh for Rainbow. The Rainbow Flag is the symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) pride and LGBT social movements. And the colors reflect the diversity of the LGBT community, as the flag is often used as a symbol of gay pride during LGBT rights marches. The fact that Enfys translates to rainbow is not a coincidence. Lucasfilm knows what it is doing when picking names. As a Welsh baby name, it is unisex, so it can be given to either a boy or a girl. See what they did there? Also, most fans are pronouncing the name wrong. It's not pronounced with an emphasis on the F and Y, it is pronounced EN-viss or sometimes En-vees. One thing we know for sure is that Enfys is connected to Han's mentor Tobias Beckett, played by Woody Harrelson. But we really don't know how yet.

So, is Solo going to spring an Empire Strikes Back like twist on unsuspecting audiences this May? Will we finally learn who Han Solo's real parents are? Some of Solo's ancestry has been traced in the old Legends canon, but we know nothing about it in the new official canon as it stands. Do we even want to know that as a collective fan base? I personally don't care if I learn the ol' space pirate's linage. He used to stand on his own as one of the best modern day characters ever written for the screen. It's too bad that we have to learn so much about him. That strips away the mystery. And that mystery is what the character is all about.

Alden Ehrenreich Will Return as Han Solo After Solo
The actor tells Esquire he's signed up for more movies.

solo-1517840894.png

Though there'd been rumors throughout the recent months, it still hadn't been confirmed whether or not Alden Ehrenreich would be returning to play the iconic character Han Solo after the upcoming stand-alone Star Wars movie next month.

In an interview for Esquire's latest cover story, the actor let slip that he's actually signed up for three movies. As Alex Pappademas writes:

He knows what he’s getting into. It’s a deeper commitment than just one movie. Even Ford couldn’t quit after just one. I ask Ehrenreich how many he’s signed up for. “Three,” he says, then flinches, understanding he may have just created a disturbance in the Force. “I don’t know if that’s officially, uh, public. But—yeah.” Anyway: Between auditions for Solo, Ehrenreich took a trip out to Death Valley. “I stayed in, like, a high-end tepee, which you can rent out there,” he says. “I’m making myself sound a lot more rugged than I actually am. I’m also getting green juices delivered to the tepee.”

Which shows that Lucasfilm is certainly confident with his performance in Solo, along with the movie's quality as a whole if it's good enough to support two sequels.

'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Villain Enfys Nest Might Be Female, Again

Much like there were troubles behind-the-scenes of Solo: A Star Wars Story and its creative leadership, marketing materials for the film can't seem to agree on whether one of the film's villains, Enfys Nest, is male or female. A new Hot Wheels toy honoring the character includes a description in which Enfys is referred to as "she," contradicting the recent report that the character was male.

Over on James Zahn's Facebook page, he shared the image of the collectible car, which reads, "The vehicle's body represents the tribal mask she hides behind, while the cooling fan is shrouded in the tribal necklace detail of the nefarious member of the Cloud Riders Gang. Her distinctive helmet extends off the rear of the car, taking on a spoiler effect. Although she can pilot the galaxy with the best of them and has the fighting skills of someone you want to steer clear from, her boom pole weapon runs along the side and exhaust pipes as an extra security measure."

The above description would seemingly confirm that the character is female, though information discovered in Star Wars Insider last week painted a different story.

The issue describes, "Busy carving out a nefarious reputation as the violent and enigmatic leader of a gang of swoop-riding pirates—the Cloud-Riders—the deadly Enfys Nest is an extremely dangerous and brutal marauder. With his face always obscured beneath a fearsome helmet, Nest is deadly, athletic, and percussively vicious."

Whether the gender of Enfys is male or female, they are sure to present the heroes of Solo with some difficult challenges. One of the film's writers, Jon Kasdan, recently described the character in ways as mysterious as their gender.

"To understand who Enfys is, you first kinda think you gotta understand who Woody Harrelson plays, which is a character named Beckett," Kasdan shared with The Star Wars Show. "Who is sort of a highly trained, very lethal criminal. He’s a real pro, who’s into big jobs, and he runs a crew. But one of their competitors is a sort of more pirate-like gang and the leader of that gang is Enfys Nest."

Audiences are sure to learn more about the character when Solo: A Star Wars Story lands in theaters on May 25th.

Tudo é narração em off??

Crybaby Star Wars fan’s boycotting Solo: A Star Wars Story due to ‘feminazi agenda’ of Star Wars
A crybaby, Star Wars fan is boycotting Solo: A Star Wars Story for all the wrong reasons, proving once again how out of touch with reality some people genuinely are

Solo: A Star Wars Story is nearly a month away, and many Star Wars fans are excited about another film within a galaxy far, far away. Others, not so much — and that’s okay.

Meanwhile, a Star Wars “YouTuber” is not happy with the direction of what he has termed “Disney’s Star Wars,” making a “look at me” video in response. Before I get started, I want to make something (kyber) crystal clear.

It’s perfectly acceptable to not like all of the Star Wars content. That’s not the point of this response, not in the slightest. It’s the reasonings and entitlement of some Star Warsfans, like this guy, that’s garnered this response. Also, his hateful remarks about women really got my Midichlorians boiling.

Also, this particular fanboy is making all sorts of claims against Disney and its direction which are flat out wrong. Take a look and see for yourself.

Right off the bat, the camera angles and long, dramatic shots of Gabriel (the creator of this video) walking languidly up and down bleachers show what this video is really about. It’s about him. It’s not about presenting a topic of conversation or facilitating a civil debate. He wants us to look at him and, Gabriel, you’ve got your wish.

Over the dramatic swell of a Titanic-like soundtrack, Gabriel whispers:

Why are we still here? Just to suffer”?

After what seems like hours of dramatic pondering (seriously, is this a discussion of Star Wars or your audition tape for The Bachelor?), he finally begins his soliloquy. He begins by saying:

Never thought I’d say this, but I’m boycotting Solo: A Star Wars Story. The only way to get Star Wars back to where it was, is to simply say. No.”

Cool, bro. You don’t have to see it. No one is “Forcing” you to do so.

But, the angry fanboy is just getting started. What he says next shows his true colors.

Disney continues to shove down their SJW feminazi agenda down our retinas.”

You mean creating characters, such as Daisy Ridley’s Rey, meant to empower women is a bad thing? Women holding an equal place within the Star Wars universe is bad? I don’t know where you get your delusions, laser brain.

Gabriel even claims that he’s not sexist.

Um, yes you are. News flash: if you use the term “feminazi” you’re a sexist.

The recent trend of inclusion within a galaxy far, far away is a necessity (true there is still room for improvement, but they’re moving in the right direction) and kudos to Kathleen Kennedy for embracing it. Speaking of which, he lets the President of Lucasfilm have it.

He goes on to complain that Rey is powerful “without any training,” and that any character can now be powerful for no reason. You mean like Anakin Skywalker, who is mysteriously created by the Force? A nobody, like Rey?

Or, Luke Skywalker, who was able to blow up the Death Star with five minutes of training with an aging Jedi? If you’re going to criticize Rey, then you have to slam the Skywalkers, too. If your only criticisms are leveled at the female characters who receive the exact same character development as the male characters…that’s sexist.

He even claims Disney delayed the novel and Blu-ray release due to “plot holes” in The Last Jedi. Really, now? How did you get that insider information, Gabriel? Don’t present opinion and conjecture as fact. The plans for both releases were well known before The Last Jedi premiered (we even wrote up an article on it); and before the complaints of some fans.

In fact, both Rogue One and The Force Awakens released in April, following their December theatrical releases — while The Last Jedi dropped in March. Hmm.

Here’s a recap of his accusations against Disney — ones that have no real merit because they aren’t based on facts (ever heard of citing your sources, Gabriel?).
  1. Disney “bankrupted” Toys R Us
  2. Disney delayed their release of The Last Jedi Blu-ray due to fan complaints and plotholes
  3. Money is the only language Disney understands.
  4. Kathleen Kennedy is promoting her “feminazi agenda.”
  5. The “majority” of fans are “tired” of Kennedy’s so-called agenda
Of course, Disney wants to make money. They only forked out $4 billion to buy the franchise. That does not mean that they aren’t committed to producing high-quality films or that they don’t care about the franchise whatsoever. If you don’t like the material, don’t buy it. You’re a real hero for doing your small part to take down Disney!

He’s also complaining about the casting of Han Solo for Solo: A Star Wars Story. If you don’t like the casting of Han Solo, Gabriel, that’s fine. He even lists another actor he feels would be better. Also, fine.

Alden Ehrenreich has much to prove, no doubt. But, Gabriel’s complaint that Ehrenreich doesn’t sound or look anything like Harrison Ford, thus making him unworthy of being Han Solo, is ridiculous.

Ron Howard has been very clear that he wasn’t looking for Ehrenreich to give his imitation of Ford, but present us with his own take on the character. He doesn’t have to sound or look exactly like Ford — Ehreinech needs to embrace his inner scoundrel.

Last and certainly not least. The “boycott” on Solo: A Star Wars Story isn’t actually a boycott. Gabriel says that he might see it once it comes on Blu-ray DVD. So, how is that a boycott (you keep using that word but I don’t think it means what you think it means)? Your 11-minute video, Gabriel, has more plot holes than any movie you complained about.

The non-boycott “boycott” is proof that this Star Wars fanboy is out of touch with reality and displays, in a nutshell, all that’s wrong within the fanbase of a galaxy far, far away.

If you enjoy the Expanded Universe better than the current Star Wars canon, cool, that’s fine. But, don’t accuse Disney, Lucasfilm, and Kathleen Kennedy of things that aren’t accurate; even in the slightest.

‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Tracking for Huge $170 Million Memorial Day Launch

solo-a-star-wars-story-17.jpg

Early tracking projections have placed Disney and Lucasfilm’s “Solo: A Star Wars Story” in the $170 million range for its four-day opening over Memorial Day weekend.

The first tracking estimates for the “Star Wars” origins story were released Thursday in the $165 million to $175 million range. Tracking measures were all elevated with unaided awareness at 28%, total awareness at 90%, definite interest at 55% and first choice at 13%. Disney did not release any numbers.

The tentpole stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian along with Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Paul Bettany and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. “Solo” follows on a young Han Solo and his early adventures with Wookiee companion Chewbacca, including their encounter with Lando Calrissian.

The film will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15 and will open 10 days later on May 25 in North America and most other markets.

Ron Howard directed “Solo: A Star Wars Story” from a screenplay by Jonathan and Lawrence Kasdan. “Solo” is the second spinoff “Star Wars” movie after 2016’s “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” Howard replaced the team of Phil Lord and Chris Miller a year ago.

The current Memorial Day weekend record-holder is Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” which debuted domestically in 2007 with $139.8 million.

Disney and Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” opened in December and grossed $620 million domestically, the seventh-highest total of all time, and totaled $1.3 billion worldwide.
