2017 was the warmest year on record for the global ocean

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00376-018-8011-z

This important ocean information was just released today by a world-class team of researchers from China. The researchers (Lijing Cheng and Jiang Zhu) found that the upper 2000 meters (more than 6000 feet) of ocean waters were far warmer in 2017 than the previous hottest year. We measure heat energy in Joules. It turns out that 2017 was a record-breaking year, 1.51 × 1022 Joules hotter than any other year. For comparison, the annual electrical generation in China is 600 times smaller than the heat increase in the ocean.

A motherfucking Nasa nao é suficiente. Não sei pq vcs perdem tempo. É tipo entrar numa igreja do edir macedo pra tentar explicar pro povo lá dentro que aquilo tá errado.

Exatamente.

Abstract
The existence of anthropogenic climate change remains a public controversy despite the consensus among climate scientists. The controversy may be fed by the existence of scientists from other disciplines publicly casting doubt on the validity of climate science. The extent to which non-climate scientists are skeptical of climate science has not been studied via direct survey. Here we report on a survey of biophysical scientists across disciplines at universities in the Big 10 Conference. Most respondents (93.6%) believe that mean temperatures have risen and most (91.9%) believe in an anthropogenic contribution to rising temperatures. Respondents strongly believe that climate science is credible (mean credibility score 6.67/7). Those who disagree about climate change disagree over basic facts (e.g., the effects of CO2 on climate) and have different cultural and political values. These results suggest that scientists who are climate change skeptics are outliers and that the majority of scientists surveyed believe in anthropogenic climate change and that climate science is credible and mature.

Pra quem não sabe o que é o Big 10.

The Big 10 universities consist of twelve (sic) large, research-oriented universities representing diverse faculty and students in the United States:
Indiana University,
Michigan State University,
Northwestern University,
Ohio State University,
Pennsylvania State University,
Purdue University,
University of Illinois,
University of Iowa,
University of Michigan,
University of Minnesota,
University of Nebraska, and
University of Wisconsin.

According to OpenSecrets.org, Inhofe has received almost $2 million in political contributions from the coal and oil industry. One of his top contributors is Koch Industries ($105,150 since 1989). [44]

In 2003, the Natural Resources Defense Council noted that Inhofe “scored zero with the League of Conservation Voters since 1997, was the only senator to oppose Everglades restoration, and once compared the Environmental Protection Agency to the Gestapo.” [5]

Inhofe has made regular speeches opposing global warming, and has voted in favor of big oil companies on many oil-related bills. [6]

Claramente um politico isento :)

Acho tensa essas listas...

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

The optimist sees the glass half full, the pessimist sees the glass half empty. George Soros sees the glass as the property of someone else so he knocks it over. By knocking it over he spills some of the dark secrets of his so-called Open Society Foundation, revealing how his vast fortune promotes misfortune in America. In addition to giving $33 million to Black Lives Matter, to be spent inflaming racial tension, Mr. Soros has funded Al Gore’s campaign to frighten everyone and promote the global-warming hoax. When the headlines cry curtains, the smart money figures there must be a Soros-sponsored doomsayer behind the curtain.

DC Leaks, a website that posts emails from global leaders who would rather no one see, has released documents showing that Mr. Gore pulled in $30 million over three years from the Open Society Foundation: “This budget item captures George Soros’s commitment of $10 million per year for three years to Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection, which conducts public education on the climate issue in pursuit of creating political space for aggressive U.S. action in line with what scientists say is necessary to put our nation on a path to reducing its outsize carbon dioxide emissions.

Mr. Gore lost his race for the White House by a whisker in 2000, and like losers before him has never got over it. But he has made a profitable second career as a weatherman with only one forecast: Climate catastrophe ahead. His 2006 docudrama, “An Inconvenient Truth,” warned of dire threats to civilization from human-caused global warming, pointing to Hurricane Katrina as an example of what happens when humans anger nature. Inconveniently, despite steadily rising atmospheric carbon dioxide, no major hurricane has made landfall in the United States for 130 months.

Mr. Gore warned that rising temperatures are melting glaciers and the collapse of a major ice sheet in Antarctica could raise ocean levels by 20 feet, inundating coastal cities and causing tens of millions of climate refugees. In the 10 years since he made those wild predictions, coast dwellers everywhere still have dry feet. Warming in Antarctica ended around 1998 and temperatures have been falling since.

Further, analysis of ice core samples reveal the global climate was warmer 115,000 years ago and sea levels were 20 to 30 feet higher then than now. Oil was just the gooey stuff that the cave man’s missus told their children to wipe off their feet before tracking it into the grotto, and that was before their children’s children figured out how to use it to drive their SUVs.

https://www.giss.nasa.gov/research/news/20110113/
Destacar en negrito:
While developed areas have a dense network of weather stations, temperature monitoring equipment is sparse in some parts of the Amazon, Africa, Antarctica, and Arctic. In the Arctic, particularly, the absence of solid land means there are large areas without weather stations.

The Met Office and the NCDC leave areas of the Arctic Ocean without stations out of their analyses, while GISS approaches the problem by filling in the gaps with data from the nearest land stations, up to a distance of 1200 kilometers (746 miles) away. In this way, the GISS analysis achieves near total coverage in the Arctic.

Both approaches pose problems. By not inferring data, the Met Office assumes that areas without stations have a warming equal to that experienced by the entire Northern Hemisphere, a value that satellite and field measurements suggest is too low given the rate of Arctic sea ice loss.

On the other hand, GISS’s approach may either overestimate or underestimate Arctic warming.

A outra é do Trump.
