:klol

Kanye West to Build ‘Star Wars’-Inspired Housing for the Homeless
According to a ‘Forbes’ cover story, Kanye West is building low-income housing based on architecture from ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’

EndorHousing.jpg

Kanye really loves Tatooine, according to a new interview.

Once upon a time, in a fictional galaxy now owned by Disney, a blond farm boy named Luke Skywalker lived on the Lars homestead. Due to a susceptibility to military propaganda and religious extremism, he would eventually leave his rural moisture farm, which resembled a brutalist igloo dropped in the middle of the Tunisian Republic desert. 42 years later, one of the world’s most successful pop musicians and polymaths envisions a world where homelessness is combatted by some of the same architecture featured in George Lucas’s 1977’s hit Star Wars: A New Hope.

During Kanye West‘s Forbes cover story, he takes writer Zack O’Malley Greenburg on a tour of “oblong and dozens of feet tall” prototypes. “Inspired by Luke Skywalker’s childhood home, West has been working with a team to design prefabricated structures that sport the same austere aesthetic, with the goal of deploying them as low-income housing units,” Greenburg writes.

Taking West’s long history with Star Wars into account, the idea isn’t fully a surprise. References to the movie franchise frequently appear in his lyrics, and last year he appeared with Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) on an episode of SNL. The multi-billion-dollar property is also semi-responsible for his marriage to Kim Kardashian.

In 2004, when his comedy dreams were still aflame, Kanye created a pilot called Alligator Boots for Comedy Central. Kanye demanded that Kardashian be part of the pilot and she ended up playing Princess Leia in a skit.

“I told Kanye that it was a bad idea, but I did it as diplomatically as I could,” Daniel Kellison, the co-creator of Crank Yankers told Wired. “I said, The Muppet Show always had one star. You’re the star of the pilot. We can put Kim Kardashian in episode 3 or 4, but let’s focus on you.’ But he resisted. Kanye is tenacious and he kept asking me about it, and finally we compromised and agreed to have her in a sketch. He’d never met her at this point.

In 2015, Kim Kardashian wrote, “Star Wars kinda brought me to Kanye.” Now, Star Wars will hopefully bring housing to the less fortunate.

Isso aí é fâ made?

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Crew Were Reportedly Asked To Stop Bashing The Last Jedi

It’s been nearly two years since Star Wars: The Last Jedi made its way into theaters, scoring strong reviews and going on to become the ninth-highest-grossing movie of all time. Yet, for a lot of people, it’s a bit of a black sheep, often breaking away from many of the familiar aspects of the franchise and taking some bold steps forward which rubbed fans the wrong way.

In fact, it’s not only the fans who weren’t on board with Rian Johnson’s divisive film, as it seems a lot of the crew members who worked on the project also felt unsure of the creative choices the director made. A new rumor over on 4chan – in other words, take this with a grain of salt – says that there was so much bashing of The Last Jedi on the set of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that Lucasfilm had to ask the production team to stop criticizing it.

Though intriguing to hear, it must be said that 4chan is hardly the most reliable source of intel and even though this supposedly comes from someone who worked on Episode IX, we’d approach it with caution. Then again, it’s not exactly hard to believe given that we’ve come across similar rumors in the past.

Regardless, J.J. Abrams, who co-wrote and helmed the final entry in the mainline saga, recently told us that he no longer feels beholden to the franchise and intends on charting a bold new course ahead. That’s certainly exciting to hear, and with any luck, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will go down smoother than its predecessor when it lands in theaters on December 20th and hopefully closes out the Skywalker Saga on a high.

:klol

adidas-stormtrooper-02.jpg

Criativo pra c***lho, hein, Disney? :klol

Duvido q eu pise no cinema.

Fewer crowds at Disneyland's Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge? Aerial images offer evidence

Many have noted how attendance this summer at Disneyland seems lighter than anticipated with the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

And recent photos of the park taken from high above offer some anecdotal proof.

The overhead shots, taken by aerial-imagery specialist Nearmap, offer a unique perspective on the buildings and crowds.

From this vantage point, you get a good idea of just how large those 14 acres are in Galaxy’s Edge. You also can see how it absorbs the crowds.

Nearmap also released aerial images in February, just as construction was near an end. The presence of people in the latest batch presents a better sense of scale.

Guests and Disney-dedicated bloggers have noted how Disneyland has been less crowded than usual, and while the overhead photos (taken July 4, according to Nearmap) seem to prove it, they do record just one moment in time.

Last week, Disney officials announced Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — the most ambitious attraction ever tackled by Imagineers — won’t open in Disneyland until Jan. 17, 2020. No reason was given for the delay, as officials previously said it would open this year.

Rise of the Resistance will open Dec. 5 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Disney World. Galaxy’s Edge will open Aug. 29.

:kclassic

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Reshoots Are Happening, Apparently

culture_cantina_rots.jpg

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which will include these two very cute little droids, hits theaters December 20.

It is, as the saying goes, a dark time for the Rebellion—and for everyone else involved in the Star Wars franchise, as things are astonishingly quiet out there right now. Could it be that the silence persists because everyone is working on projects in the lull between Star Wars Celebration and D23? Perhaps the looming shadow of Comic-Con International in San Diego is soaking up the conversation in the nerd sphere. Or maybe, there's just … nothing to actually talk about right now when it comes to Star Wars. Well, nothing aside from the news below, of course.

The Rise of Skywalker Reshoots Are On
Source: Multiple online outlets
Probability of accuracy: It would certainly appear to be true, and definitely checks out in terms of timeline before the movie gets released.

The real deal: Apparently, additional shoots are underway for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, with a couple of sources reporting that Black Park in the UK has been closed off for either reshoots or pickups, with an X-wing fighter being part of the additional shots. Apparently, there's a notice that the shoot might continue through early September, which feels unexpectedly late considering the movie is scheduled to hit theaters in December. If true, expect some very late nights for editors and the visual effects team. But don't worry about the movie having reshoots this late in the game; these days, such things are common, so this is unlikely to be some kind of Rogue One situation where the entire movie gets significantly changed after the first pass at production.

Expect an Unexpected Adventure In Rise
Source: Rey herself, Daisy Ridley
Probability of accuracy: This is vague enough to be easily explained away in multiple directions depending on what the finished movie is like, but let's go with "accurate" for now.

The real deal: Daisy Ridley, who's currently doing press for her appearance in Ophelia, has been teasing the upcoming Rise of Skywalker in the vaguest of terms, telling USA Today, "Genre-wise, it's different from the other two [installments Ridley has appeared in], which will become clear when the film comes out. It's quite emotional. There's a different drive than the previous two films, but there's a lot of fun. I really missed John [Boyega] during the last one, but we're back together, and now Oscar [Isaac] is part of it. To me, it felt like kids going on an adventure." This lines up with previous statements made by director J.J. Abrams and others about the tone of the movie, and also rumors that Rey, Finn, and Poe would spend the majority of the movie together. Now, if only we could find out more about the rest of the movie.

The Throne Room Duel Was Just a Warm-Up for Rey and Kylo
Source: Once again, Daisy Ridley
Probability of accuracy: We'll have to wait until the movie's out to know for sure, but it sounds pretty credible right now.

The real deal: Elsewhere, Ridley is now confirming that, yes, the lightsaber fight between Rey and Kylo Ren wasn't just something staged for a Vanity Fair photo shoot, but is an important part of the finished movie itself. "We have a great fight," she said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. "A great fight. And I was really happy that the Vanity Fair pictures did show a bit of it. It's a great fight. Like I've become such a better fighter, and they made the lightsabers lighter, so it actually looks like we're swinging light and not like heavy, heavy [blades] … It feels really epic, and it felt epic even at the time." This suggests that those hoping for a redemptive story arc for Kylo Ren might end up just a little disappointed by what's onscreen this December. (Mind you, Return of the Jedi did have a very last minute about-face for its central villain, so who can tell?)

The Worlds of Rise of Skywalker Are Hot and … Pretty Blurry, Actually
Source: Anonymous sources providing blurry photographs, it seems
Probability of accuracy: We can’t even make out what’s in these images, how are we supposed to know if they’re accurate? (And accurate to … what?)

The real deal: Underscoring just how quiet it is out there in the Star Wars universe, Making Star Wars made headlines with some very blurry, indistinct photos that may be concept art from the new movie. What can be gleaned from the images? Not much. They're so unclear they could be almost anything, with even the report noting, "it would be an overstep to pretend we know what any of this stuff actually pertains to." For what it's worth, it appears to be images of an unknown location that, in some shots, appear to be covered in lava. Could this be where the Knights of Ren have been hanging out all these years, or some other hideaway relating to the First Order? One thing's for sure, it certainly doesn't look like somewhere the good guys want to be, wherever it is.

S06E01 - OMG!!! Você não pode criticar The Last Jedi!

Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley Calls Out Vicious Social Media Fans

Ah, music to my ears.

In a moment of harmonious honesty, Daisy Ridley addressed the toxic nature of fandom criticism, specifically upon the Star Wars films.

It’d be crazy to assume that anyone who’s asked to take part in one of history’s longest and most treasured movie franchises would consider it a job – at least in the sense that you and I would define a job. But apparently that much is true in Ridley’s case, who appreciates her role and responsibility of Rey but will also not let it define her or her actions.

In a recent interview with Bustle, the 27-year-old icon addressed many of the not-so-pleasant parts of being at the forefront of a series, including facing criticism from fans. Though any film’s subject to condemning commentary from viewers and professionals alike (hell, I’m a critic), no one would debate the fact that the products of major franchises like Star Wars are viewed and judged in a stricter light.

“It’s great that people are expressive of their views. But this is people’s jobs. People worked really, really hard on that thing,” Ridley explained. “I think there’s a way of having a discussion that isn’t so vicious.”

The young star then went on to note how social media has given users a false sense of entitlement and importance, saying:

“Because if you’ve got however many followers, and you write something that you think is, like, so deep, and a hundred people like it, it’s constant reinforcement.”

While Ridley’s done her part in staying away from social media, having deactivated all her accounts, it seems she hasn’t escaped the storm entirely, detailing a recent interaction in which someone felt comfortable enough with her to voice their negativity right to her face.

“I was at my friend’s birthday,” she said. “And one of her friends, who I barely know, was like, ‘Hey, really liked the first Star Wars. Didn’t really like the second one,’ and I thought, ‘That’s rude, dude! That’s my job!'”

It’s endearing to see a star of Ridley’s caliber stand up for her projects, though she, as any professional actor and actress should be, is aware that criticism’s inevitable with any film. Not even Star Wars is perfect.

'Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker' Leak Teases a Huge Twist in Rey's Backstory
And the Emperor could be involved too

Rey’s backstory has always been one of the biggest mysteries of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. We know she abandoned on Jakku thanks to a few short flashbacks, but that’s about it. Now, a new leak may be teasing a big reveal about Rey’s origins that could be explored in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

First, let’s get one thing out of the way: We’re pretty sure Jakku is not Rey’s home planet. Despite her first memories being her parents abandoning her there, it’s been mostly confirmed in supplementary books and other non-movie content that she was born somewhere else and merely abandoned on Jakku.

That said, the exact details have always been somewhat murky, but a new leak shared on Reddit hints that we could be learning a lot more about her early backstory while also confirming once and for all that Rey wasn’t born on Jakku.

Here’s the leak, via Reddit:

display

And in case that doesn’t load, here’s the relevant bit, written out:

Abandoned
A tiny Rey watches helplessly as a starship pulls away, marooning her on the unfamiliar world of Jakku.

This pretty much syncs up with what we’ve seen in previous flashbacks, but the word “unfamiliar” seems like a pretty strong indication that Rey’s home isn’t the desert planet where we first meet her in The Force Awakens. It also suggests that these details still matter to Lucasfilm and could come to the forefront in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which is already expected to explore and maybe even retcon Rey’s backstory.

As one Reddit commenter points out, this confirmation that Rey wasn’t born on Jakku also seems to disprove the many theories that her origins can be traced back to the secret labs Emperor Palpatine established on Jakku. But that’s not necessarily true.

As part of a backup plan in case he died, Palpatine established the Jakku Observatory, but it’s unclear exactly what the facility was for. While some fans theorized Rey was actually a clone created by the Emperor, the fact that she isn’t originally from Jakku does disprove that. However, it’s still possible that she was part of some sort of experiment at the Observatory that helped unlock her Jedi powers (either by accident or intentionally as a way to defeat Kylo Ren and Snoke). Maybe Rey’s parents even sold her to the Empire.

With the Emperor returning in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Rey all but guaranteed to finally get a satisfying backstory, we may be about to learn how these two characters connect. Compared to that sort of revelation, Rey’s original home planet will just be a happy bonus.

Novo force power, auto learning huahauahuahuahuha
