Leiam a entrevista do Momochi e Ogawa enquanto ninguém desvenda o segredo da matchup "Press any button":
4Gamer: Congratulations on your win. Please tell us how you feel right now.
Momochi: Half happy, half unhappy with all the troubles that happened, is how I would describe it.
4Gamer: In the grand finals match, you had some trouble with your stick making it lose connection. What exactly happened there?
Momochi: Well I definitely would not have pressed the pause button. The stick had a malfunction and the connection was faulty. That's what happened. So I changed my stick and by regulation had to give up the round with both our meters untouched.
4Gamer: You were up 1 round in that match. That penalty put you both at 1 round each.
Momochi: Yeah. I assume everybody watching wasn't happy with it. Of course, I was not satisfied with my win as well. But if I was the one who lost the previous round, that penalty would have given the tournament to GamerBee. What happened in the end was more preferable, I think.
4Gamer: I see. Now, out of all the people you fought, who did you have the most trouble with?
Momochi: Hmm... That would be everybody in the finals. The match with Tokido ended 3-1 but I'd say the actual fight was almost equal, either of us could have lost. All the matches were equally close I feel.
4Gamer: So why did you think you won?
Momochi: The fact that I did not insist on sticking with Ken. I probably would have lost if I stuck with Ken all the way through while fighting against Infiltration or Gamerbee.
4Gamer: Right, like when you used Elena against Infiltration or E.Ryu against GamerBee. What was going through your head at those times?
Momochi: Firstly, Infiltration's Abel was really good. In that short amount of time that I fought him... it wasn't the Abel matchup that I knew. It made me think that using a more standard character like Ken, Akuma or E.Ryu probably wouldn't do it. So I decided to troll it up with "I don't care who I fight against" Elena.
4Gamer: Just going at him head on wouldn't cut it, is what you're saying.
Momochi: Yeah. So I thought Elena might be the best in that situation.
4Gamer: And picking E.Ryu after GamerBee's reset?
Momochi: Well, that's because I couldn't see how I would have won with Ken (laughs). My tournament history with GamerBee wasn't that good to begin with. I wouldn't win if I stubbornly stuck to it.
4Gamer: Did you train up Elena and E.Ryu just for Evo2015?
Momochi: It goes without saying that I did train them up, but when I saw the finals bracket, I thought to myself that I should be able to do it with Ken alone, so I hadn't planned on using them. Then Infiltration and GamerBee started pulling out all these characters, I could really feel that desire to win. It is in this area that I feel we are lacking here in Japan. If we don't learn from them, we may fall behind.
4Gamer: Like during Loser's Finals, Infiltration stared at the character select screen for so long, he was told to make a decision in 15 seconds.
Momochi: From the past year to the beginning of this year, I had good results with just using Ken. But starting from some where along the way this year it wasn't nearly as great. Looking at Infiltration thinking that hard, it feels like I put this curse on myself by winning Capcom Cup 2014 with just Ken. Even a player as strong as Infiltration is thinking that hard.
4Gamer: Actually, I heard that Infiltration initially did not want to use Juri.
Momochi: I thought that was the case (laughs). If he wanted to do so from the beginning, he wouldn't have sat there at the character select screen thinking for that long. Now that I think about it, players like Infiltration and GamerBee have this courage to throw away all that they have built up. We may be at a time where players like these will be the ones who will leave behind results.
4Gamer: Game fans these days prefer character specialists. But with the meta gaming aspects of character selections, we might be forced to look more into that. Finally, let's hear your plans from here on out.
Momochi: We just finished this huge event so I want to take it easy for a while. I managed to win Evo2015 but as I mentioned earlier I didn't really feel very satisfied with it. So I am aiming for the win at Capcom Cup at the end of the year, while re-evaluating my strengths.
4Gamer: We look forward to your performance in Capcom Cup. Thank you very much.
There's also an interview with Ogawa in there. I'll translate that too if there's interest.
EDIT: There is interest so here it is.
4Gamer: Congratulations on your win! Please tell us how you are feeling right now.
Ogawa: I just went from "Best in Japan" to "Best in the world", so it was really worth putting in the effort. Not only that, everybody's been going "Millia's the best!" and it got really annoying, I just proved that Zato's the best so there's that as well.
4Gamer: Who gave you the hardest time on your way to your win?
Ogawa: That would be Nage. In terms of matchup, Zato has the upper hand but Nage has just as much, if not more, experience than I do with the matchup. Not to mention he is clearly the superior player between the both of us. He is what you would expect from the Last Boss of Mikado(). Though I am the hidden boss. ( Takadanobaba Game Center: Mikado, the holy land of GGXrd)
4Gamer: So you and Nage regularly face off then.
Ogawa: Oh, no, we don't really fight each other much. It's just that we had a long play session previously and I've had a grasp of his habits from back then. Faust isn't a character with many options to begin with, so I just focused on that.
4Gamer: I see. I'd like to hear about your match with Woshige. When Woshige was popping off, you ran straight in and did cr.HS for the counter hit. Where you aiming for that?
Ogawa: Once you get close to Millia, the most common options are to jump back to escape or to mash HS for the throw. I just picked the option that would counter either of those. Since Woshige would be panicking as he rushed back to his seat, I thought he would most likely do that. If he didn't panic and did cr.K instead, I might have lost.
4Gamer: It was really hype there in the hall, but you looked very calm.
Ogawa: Pachi would always tell me countless times, "Never stand up until the match is over". It's fine as long as I win, so I always keep my hands on the stick even when the opponent looks away.
4Gamer: This year, an American player named Zidane got tied for 7th place. What are your thoughts on the overseas player levels?
Ogawa: Zidane and Kidviper(Elphelt player) have, I guess you can say it as very high physical stats. They were really strong. We here in Japan have the experience and matchup knowledge but they might be the ones who win it next year.
4Gamer: I see. By the way, in between matches you were frequently looking at some memos. What was written on it?
Ogawa: Common reasons for why I lose matches. Pachi really drilled it into me during GODSGARDEN #10.
Pictures of his memo (TN: Handwriting is hideous, combined with my limited knowledge of GG, I can't really tell what he's saying.)
Pachi (who just happened to be there): ... Well, I did tell you to take note of it, but when I was telling you why you keep losing I wasn't all that serious.
4Gamer: Finally, please tell us your plans from here on out.
Ogawa: I'll be putting in the effort for Arc Revo 2015. I won this time but my victory in Arc Revo is not guaranteed. It's back to Mikado to train for me.
4Gamer: Since you won Evo2015, do you think you will get more invitations to overseas tournaments?
Ogawa: No way, if I were to travel overseas alone I'd die for sure! I can't do anything alone, but if I can bring somebody along I might think about it.
4Gamer: We look forward to your performance from here on out. Thank you very much for today.
