The official Twitter account for Xbox Game Pass recently teased that Yakuza spinoff Judgment may soon make its way to the subscription service. Such an addition would prove a big get for the platform, especially since most of Sega's Yakuza titles are already accessible via Game Pass.
Notably, the Yakuza Remastered Collection hit Game Pass a few months ago in January, giving subscribers access to enhanced versions of Yakuza 3, 4, and 5. Yakuza 6: The Song of Life entered the mix a couple of months later on March 25. And the popular franchise's most recent installment, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, joined the fun in June. Thus, fans now await word on what other entries in the action-packed series will eventually migrate to Game Pass. A hint from Microsoft suggests a certain spinoff is next in line.
A tweet from the Xbox Game Pass Twitter account recently made a joke about putting 280 characters in a single tweet. The post boasted a screenshot of 280 fictional character names, including the likes of Harley Quinn, Master Chief, Hellblade's Senua, and Ethan Winters of Resident Evil fame. Apparently, the post in question featured a "slight error," resulting in the account sharing an updated list of character names, with one in particular crossed out in green writing - Judgment protagonist Takayuki Yagami. A quickly scrawled comment next to Yagami's marked-off name reads, "Oopsie Woopsie," indicating the Ryū ga Gotoku Studio-developed detective game will soon come to Xbox Game Pass.
At the time of writing, Microsoft has yet to confirm that Judgment will indeed appear on Xbox Game Pass at some point in the near future. That multiple Yakuza installments have already found a home on the subscription service seems to offer a safe bet that Judgment could eventually follow suit.
The Yakuza spinoff follows the exploits of Takayuki Yagami, a defense attorney-turned-detective who finds himself embroiled in a case concerning murdered members of the Yakuza. A critical and commercial success, Judgement managed to cross one million units in sales. Now fans and developer Ryū ga Gotoku Studio are gearing up for the Lost Judgement follow-up title. The highly-anticipated sequel hits stores this September for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Sega announced in May.
Judgment is available to play now on Google Stadia, PS4,
PS5, Xbox One, and
Xbox Series X|S platforms.
