Disney’s 20th Century Studios is developing a fifth “Predator” movie with “10 Cloverfield Lane” director Dan Trachtenberg.
Patrick Aison, whose television credits include the series “Kingdom,” “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” and “Treadstone,” has been hired to write the script.
The four “Predator” movies earned $443 million worldwide, with John Davis producing each. The original “Predator” was released in 1987 and directed by John McTiernan. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura starred as commandos attempting to rescue hostages while being stalked in a jungle in Central America by a fearsome extraterrestrial, played by Kevin Peter Hall.
Stephen Hopkins directed 1990’s “Predator 2.” Danny Glover, Ruben Blades, Gary Busey, María Conchita Alonso and Bill Paxton starred along with Hall, who reprised the title role of the Predator in a story set a decade after the events of the first film. The Predator character also headlined Fox’s 2004 crossover film “Alien vs. Predator” and the 2007 sequel “Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.”

It's learned that a Predator 5 movie is in the works at Disney, under its Fox banner, with the director of 10 Cloverfield Lane.
Disney acquired the Predator franchise when it purchased Fox Studios.
Details for the fifth Predator movie include that it will be directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who in addition to 10 Cloverfield Lane, has directed episodes of The Boys and Black Mirror.
The flick will be written by Patrick Aison who is known for writing episodes of Wayward Pines, Kingdom, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, and Treadstone.
The good news is that it's said the movie will not have anything to do with the recent The Predator from Shane Black that was released in 2018 and was a huge disappointment and failure (32% at Rotten Tomatoes, with a worldwide $160 million gross), so hopefully with the franchise at a new studio, things get refreshed.

20th Century Studios has reportedly tapped 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg to helm the fifth installment in the Predator franchise.
According to Deadline, Predator 5 isn't a direct sequel to 2018's The Predator, directed by Shane Black. Other than that one detail, though, it seems 20th Century is staying pretty tight-lipped about the plot of the upcoming Predator flick.
Trachtenberg is best known for 10 Cloverfield Lane, the 2016 spiritual successor to 2008's Cloverfield, but he's also directed the 'Playtest' episode of Black Mirror and The Boys episode 'The Name of the Game'. The script for Predator 5 is being written by Patrick Aison, whose producer-writer credits include Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, Kingdom, and Wayward Pines.
