Xbox At E3 2020: Phil Spencer Gives An Update​

While Sony is bowing out of E3 2020, Microsoft will be at the show to reveal more of Halo Infinite and share more of its plans in the lead-up to the Xbox Series X launch later in the year.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has now provided an update on how Microsoft's E3 2020 planning is shaping up. He said on Twitter that Microsoft held the latest planning meeting on February 15, during which he and his team discussed some of the titles it might show off or announce during the company's briefing. He teased there will be a "deep portfolio" of Xbox Game Studios titles scheduled to appear at E3, though he did not name any outright.

Spencer also mentioned how "console launch years are just special," referring to the launch of the Xbox Series X later this year.

Spencer also mentioned that veteran Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg is leading the E3 planning team. Greenberg hasn't shared any specific insight into the Xbox E3 2020 plan, but he did tease in his own tweet that Xbox may be partnering with Taco Bell for something. Unica dúvida minha e se o Series X sera day one no Brasil, mesma data de lançamento que EUA. One X teve um mês de atraso em relação ao EUA. Se for só isso esta sussa, vou esperar a versao BR. Mas se for mais de 3 meses, daí vai ficar difícil.

Obvio, se for um hardware poderoso, pica da galáxia, acima dos 12+TF. Aí vai ser tenso esperar. Agora se for algo medíocre a lá One, daí não vejo motivo para pegar rápido. Vou ficar no One X alguns meses ainda. Espero que a Mic faca isso pelo menos, um hardware poderoso, parecido com One X. Pois é a única qualidade do Xbox. Assim como o Gamepass. Pois de resto, Microsoft só segue ladeira abaixo. Até agora, nada não deu resultado em termos de jogos está compra de estúdios. Só promessa. Vamos ver nessa E3 se muda este cenário.

There have been many rumors and leaks for Microsoft’s next-gen console that’s Xbox Series X and players can’t wait to find out when the actual reveal for this console is. Well, now, we have some solid leaks from the industry insider.

Gothic remake announced for next-gen consoles, PC

Two months after the release of its Gothic Playable Teaser that served as a means to gauge interest in a potential Gothic remake, publisher THQ Nordic has announced that it will establish a new studio based in Barcelona, Spain to go into full production on a Gothic remake for “next-gen consoles” and PC. A release date was not announced, but THQ Nordic confirmed it will not launch in 2020.

Over 180,000 players played Gothic Playable Teaser so far, and 94.8 percent of the users that provided feedback were in favor of remaking the 2001-released RPG. Assessed data includes over 43,000 answered surveys and over 9,000 Steam reviews, as well as various discussions on social media platforms. A PDF with all the analyzed data is available here.

After the Barcelona studio is established, THQ Nordic will assess what players liked and what they want to be different from Gothic Playable Teaser. One of the most common examples was for a “grittier and less colorful world.”

“We are up for the challenge to develop a full Gothic remake which will stay as faithfully as possible to the original experience and transport the atmospheric world of Gothic into a high quality look and carefully modernizing certain gameplay mechanics,” THQ Nordic business and product development director Reinhard Pollice said in a press release.

Further details were not announced.

Learn from the audio designers of Borderlands 3 and Gears of War 5 around how a collaboration between Microsoft, Dolby, and our middleware partners kicked off a revolution with spatial sound that turns any pair of headphones into a multi-dimensional gateway to another world. Attendees will dive deep into the audio design pipeline (Project Acoustics) and the relationship to dedicated hardware-acceleration on newer generation Xbox consoles.

With today's confirmation, both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will bring some serious sound improvements. Last year, it has been confirmed by Mark Cerny that the next-generation Sony console will feature a custom unit for 3D audio. Considering how important sound is for immersion, it will be interesting to see how audio production will change for next-generation console games.

Tava pensando aqui que, se a MS realmente planeja lançar o Lockhart, ela terá que fazer isso muito próximo lançamento do series X. Afinal, quanto mais ela demorar pra lançá-lo, mais ela complica a vida dos devs que, invariavelmente, terão que trabalhar seus games para rodarem no lockhart (sendo que, nesse caso, vc está fazendo o caminho inverso do one x/pro).

Tendo isso em mente, acho que a MS irá apresentar o XSS juntamente com a revelação final do XSX. Não sei se irão falar do preço nesse dia (to achando que tanto MS quanto Sony vão empurrar essa revelação para o segundo semestre em diante), mas estou apostando em $350 para esse lockhart (o que o tornaria numa opção interessantíssima num mercado onde tivéssemos dois outros consoles custando $500).

Eu, se eu fosse a Sony, estaria bem pensativo em relação a esta possível estratégia da MS. Vc precisa estar muito confiante para, no mínimo, não se sentir incomodado com uma opção $150 mais barata que o seu produto.

Mas, é claro, são apenas suposições.
