Igual meu console.

Old thread but since it was up there in top 3 google results figured I'd share since there's no working solution posted here. Same issue as OP Happened to me today with xbox one x. Use it home on a P Series 4k and a 1080 tv over at the gfs. Travel with it back and forth often and never had an issue until today. Safe to say I was pretty dam nervous after having tinkered with the settings and it wasn't getting fixed or better. For me it was instant 480P, no black screen..otherwise same as OP in that I changed cables, ports, soft/hard resets you name it. I thought maybe I messed up the graphics card during transit, coming loose and it defaulted to using on-board graphics. Then I realized it's unlikely Microsoft would spend extra production money for a useless on-board graphics card, and that if it's displaying an image, it works...and it's just a settings issue/display miscommunication (even though I have NEVER had this happen a single dam time from the OG Xbox, 360, One, X1X..). I then of course came to the interweb and found a whollllle bunch of that fluffy speculative nonsense it's known to have, before actually finding the solution on another thread after some digging (this solution did work 100% for me, but of course every scenarios different). Some people say changing settings doesn't help, others say you shocked ur port.. Considering our consoles have all sorts of grounding protection and the like, I highly doubted it was from a shock (sry, but that info seemed like a prime example of "fluffy speculation" tbh). Possible this, possible that. Well what ACTUALLY worked was Settings->Display and Sound->Video output->Video Fidelity and overscan->
switch from Auto Detect to HDMI (or I guess dvi if ur using a monitor and monitors actually still use that?) and then the CRUCIAL MISSED STEP (thought I was doomed after trying every possibility but this) is to then go back to the resolution page only AFTER confirming you want to override your TVs settings. It then lists many settings your tv can and can not support including things like 120hz refresh rate, all resolutions up to 1440p etc. (Majority of which are not even close to supported on this 4 year old budget Hisense TV) Now just pick the right/desirable resolution and refresh rate and you're golden. Since I game a lot it definitely scared the crap out of me that the issue was immediate after traveling, having worked fine before and was my x1x not the XOne having issues, of course 8 days after the x1x's warranties up. Hope this helps someone in same situation as I was few minutes ago!
